Needs to be able to browse (the latest gen Nano) iPlod reasonably
easily, good tuner. CD player not essential.

I've been thinking about the Pioneer DEH-P6000UB

Anyone got one, or any other recommendations please?

    TIA

    I've got this one:

    catalogId_10151_productId_506221_langId_-1_categoryId_165474

Not the easiest to scroll through your iPod - but I've yet to find one
that's as easy to use as the iPod itself.

But it has a Parrot bluetooth kit built in, so works very well as a
    hands free kit, too.

What I particularly like are the setup options - you can really fine
tune it to the speakers and / or amp in your car.

That looks quite good actually. Is the phone mic. built in, or wired in
    separately?

    'erself has one of these...

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Select from the plod by artist/
album/playlist from the head unit, charges it as you go.

I bought basically the same headunit for my car recently - the phone kit can
be a PITA to get dial numbers stored on your phone, but you can programme
six favourites as easily accessed favourites.

The mic, is wired separately - I've got mine on the A pillar, and people
who've spoken to me when I've used it reckon it sounds spot on.

    Good value for money, anyway.

The only thing I'm a little miffed about is the dimmmer function doesn't dim
the display down quite as much as I'd like, in the dark.

I've just popped one of these in the missus' Fabia.

Not only does it work with her ipod, I can pop by usb hard drive in the
glove box too and use that instead

    It's a separate mic.

Took me about 5 mins to work out where to route the cable and another 5
    mins to actually route it.

I took it out from behind the dash, up and over the steering column (zip
tied to other cables) then out between the end of the dash and the
    A-pillar.

It then goes up the rubber strip between the A-pillar trim and the door
seal, emerging at the top of the trim where it clips to the end of the
    trim piece.

Works very well, is barely visible, but best of all, it would take me
about 5-10 mins to remove so I could move it to another car.
