That's almost always down to the windows implementation of the drivers
at the PC end, MS never included full function bluetooth out of the
box, and a lot of vendors never bothered plugging all the gaps. If
you overwrite the drivers with the toshiba bluetooth stack it adds in
all the missing functionality - I use that with USB bluetooth dongles
    and all sorts.

The problem with non bluetooth stuff it it frequently uses 2.4GHz,
which can interfere/overlap with wireless lan.

It does? It works pretty well for me. I use it most days in the car,
    to start with.

And when I was first out of hospital and at my mum's, I used bluetooth
from laptop to phone to get internet access.
This has **** all to do with remote keyboards, tho, doesn't it.

Does anyone actually use the number pad. I find the only thing its good
for is switching into write over mode when pressing the 0 accidentally
whilst typing reports in openorifice. Damn that uncontrollable pinkie.

  5. I used to before I switched to a laptop, handy for typing lots of IP
    addresses.

I can't recall *ever* using the number pad.

The freaky "upside down compared to a phone" thing is too annoying.

Use it fairly regularly at work.

Yep, all the time. Well obviously not *all* the time, otherwise this
post would be 594, 455 587 5361. But a lot of the time. Mainly when I
    want to type numbers.

Yes, sometimes I use it for Home, End, Pg Up & Pg Dn if I've hit
NumLock by mistake. Which confuses the hell out of me until I figure
    out what happened.

heh. I do exactly that - when my laptop is in the docking station at
work, with a full size keyboard plugged in, I turn on num-lock. Then
I take the laptop home, and wonder why my password isn't accepted.

Our local CEO's PA logged a platinum-level support call a couple of
months back to request that her boss's PC *didn't* have NumLock on
when it was powered up, and that he had to manually select it.

    I know, I know.
What are you, some sort of pikey?

Seriously, I've not seen anything else that manages to fit into a
living room environment and look like a piece of hi-fi kit; computer
keyboards are normally shitty rattly plastic things - this is like a
    piece of art.

Oh no, it's much worse than that, as you well know.

£92 on Amazon, so not so bad. I see a purchase in my future

  20. "Platinum level"? Oh dear oh dear, someones trying *too* hard.

I assume that solving one of those involves 150% effort rather than the
    merely mundane 110%?
