Having had a much closer look, if it actually is a bevel drive on the front
axle, I'll be *damned* if I can see how it gets the drive from the gearbox.
But it is indeed really 3-wheel drive: http://tinyurl.com/lbhzt
It is as you say though, truly nasty. It would cause quite a stir at a few
    rallies though.
Wonder what it would fetch on Ebay? I've never even heard of one before.

I think there's a driveshaft that comes forward through the V of the engine.
I imagine there's a diff at the back of the gearbox.

I see they acknowledge the Italian electrics by fitting a fire
    extinguisher as standard.

Unless it's a nitrous bottle, of course.

Splendid beast. Just a 3-wheeled version of my Guzzi Super Alce
    military single .....

There was one on eBay a couple of month back, being sold by
someone in SE England. Seem to recall a start bid of £1500, &
it didn't sell -- could be wrong. I was tempted, but have too many
    toys.

  11. Wotcha.
Only Guzzi could get away with calling something like that a "Super Moose"
    ;-)

Huh? I would imagine it's less of a challenge than the average Eastern Bloc
asymmetric conveyance. And I doubt it would do much more than 35-40mph flat
    out.

Oh dear -- I have been silly. Thought I knew which Guzzi trike this
    was,
without looking. Didn't realise it was so modern.

The one on eBay was a '60 Guzzi Ercole. 3-wheel pick-up truck complete
with tilt cover. That was clearly of Alce/Falcone lineage, & was the
    one
that interested me. Decided not to buy as I already have too many
    projects
to complete before I'm in my wooden box.

Those who are not familiar with the '40's Alce military m/c will spot
something very unusual on the pic linked by Lone Wolf. It has a set of
wide & high handlebars for the pillion passenger to use --- most
    unusual.
It's fanciful to think they may have reminded the marketing folk of
    antlers,
hence the "Moose" tag. It also has mountings for a rifle.

Probably has a max of 55mph, & would run in top at 15mph. No chrome,
hewn out great slabs of steel, so an interesting & inexpensive rebuild
    as
long as you have all of the tinware/exhaust etc. Not many spares
    suppliers!
I need a set of main bearings for mine 'cos I left them in a box that
    got
wet for a few years -- reminds me to get them out & order them.

why take the long way around a roundabout if you have 3 wheel drive,
difflocks on 3 wheels and even optional tracks for the rear wheels?
these are supposed to be able to climg 60 degree hills, a roundabout cant be
    that hard....

    cheers,
