I agree with you on the reasons though. Along with that reason there was the
other. Trying to go too far too quickly.

We used to have a LOT of music outlets in Manc, but SC took over A1 first
and then began buying up others. Then they moved out of the city centre and
onto an industrial estate. Magic for the in-house gigs they put on, but not
so good for their "drive-by" customers and no use at all to the customers
who were loyal to the old established shops.

They've probably been taken over by either PMT or Reverb, so the staff are
likely to still be there, unless your branch is one of those that were
closed altogether.

No, it was countrywide, but in reality, all that's happened as far as the
buying public is concerned is there's been a name change.

I got myself a nice 16 channel Mackie mixing desk which retailed at 550 quid
for a mere 269 at the "changeover". One week it was a defunct Sound Control,
the next it was PMT. Same guys working there and my guarantee wasn't
affected.
