  3. There's nothing like a good grammar thread for bringing people
together. Clearly the sentence had more faults in it than the one I
had in mind, which was the use of "if" and "could".

Anyone care to comment on usage of said words?

  5. Try: "Ok. Can you fax it?".

Job done ("fax" can be a verb these days I assume).

"Could" seems to be used syonomously with "would" these days, doesn't bother
me in the slightest as it could be taken to mean not just "if you have the
ability" but also "if you have the time, resources". "Fax copy" warrants a
    death sentence.

I'm not. I genuinely like talk talking about shit like. It beats the
    one-downmanship competitions of who's the most depressed/poor/injured/blind.

Oh, so we're learning czech now, are we? la di da.

My attempts to grapple with the russian language only met with limited
success. I can just about read cyrillic script now, tho it's a bit
laborious. Does turn up the odd gem, like the translitered word for
'salon' is, er, 'salon', and 'wine' is 'vino', and I was delighted to
find that the translittered word for 'tomoatoes' is 'pomodori'.

Still, I can say "Two beers please", so I've got the basics down.

If you want an honest answer[1]:
I enjoy the "Masters of Quick Wit and Repartee" that are ukrm.
I haven't read, written or spoken, heard much English for the last 25 years
and it does me good to catch up[2].
Warms the cockles of me 'eart, you might say.

God, no. I find it invaluable to have a partner for whom English isn't the
first language. Obviously I've picked up the normal swear words, plus given
them Clown shoes which her brother seems to like a lot.
That would keep you going all night.
