How the **** is a word for nuisance somehow in context for a joke when
    the word for shithead isn't?
We're not talking about the word emmerdeur as opposed to emmerdeaux you
    idiot.

You used a word that, according to all the French dictionaries I have
access to, doesn't exist. The closest match to that word was emmerdeur,
which means 'nuisance'. In the context of your joke, this is the wrong
    fucking word!

'The most recent one I know of is the Toyota MR2, which didn't sell too
well in France, and Toyota were mystified until someone told them that
    in French, 'Emmerdeux' means 'shitty'.[1]

    [1] Or as near as.'

Emmerdeur, which you say would have been a better word to use, is not in
fucking context with the joke if the joke is that MR2 in French 'means
'shitty' ... Or as near as.' In what universe are the words shitty and
    nuisance remotely similar?

I ASKED if the word merdeux was the word you meant because, unlike you,
I know I'm not an expert and just wanted to learn a bit more about the
    French language.
If you don't think you're holier than thou then you have more problems
    than I thought.

  2. Shitty water?

If you're going to do linguistic arguments, you really need to get the
text right. It's not like pointing a camera and pressing a button, you
    know.

And the tedious old **** once again conveniently ignores everything that
shows he's in the wrong and picks on the only thing he can find which he
    knows is a genuine mistake.

    What a surprise...

  5. Heh. You really are not showing yourself in the best possible light, you
know. Why did you throw your toys out of the pram anyway?

He's not going to admit that he was wrong. He'll start to attack you
personally, will use sarcasm and insults to divert the issue, and will
eventually start to compare you to 'des'.

Just drop it: you were right, he was wrong. That's all that matters.

"no va" means "doesn't work" in Spanish, period.

Other funny names in the Spanish market are Mitsubishi Pajero (Wanker) and
Mazda Laputa (Thebitch). The Pajero was sold for a couple of years until it
    was renamed to Montero.

No, you are the clumsy teacher before and/or. After it there is a "Sarko".
Haven't you seen the Président with platform shoes when he is near Carla
    Bruni?
Could try, but don't like much pirated software. I like VectorMagic.com
policy, you can buy small tokens for occasional use, rather than buying the
    entire package.

You don't want to buy it, and you don't want to pirate it..?

    Not many options left. :^P

Not bad. That reminds me: I promised my first years a URL for a French-
    English dictionary.

But I think he wanted _Le Petit Robert_, which I think is only available
on CD. Damned fine dico it is, too.

    Jesus.

I always thought it was that, if said in a particularly slovenly way,
em er deuh, run together, sounds a bit like merde.

You know how the moment you have to explain the punchline to a joke,
the joke ceases to be funny?

I find it mildly amusuing that beauty products are sold by
