Not sure which road your using. There's the silly little station round
the back of us that must be that kind of level. There's a Nick's tyres
as well that IWHT would be in the running.

Mate of mine moved there 18 months back. I'd love to visit him while
he's there, but I'm under no illusions that it's anything other than a
load of shopping malls in a desert. And hot.

But he did promise to take me up the Burj.

Well, I left the UK in 2003. Until then, there was always at least one
person there, rain, snow or shine, so people would turn up knowing they
    wouldn't be alone.

Heh. I do remember a couple of times when there were only two - once
with you and once with AndyR. And you slowed me down, braking into the
corners on your VTR, so I couldn't carry what little speed the 400/4
had built up on the previous straight. You bastard.

  12. That is nothing mate, you just wait until The Muslim Botherhood closes the
Suez canal and Brent Crude has to travel halfway round Africa to reach us.
Then you will see some profiteering like you have never seen before. You
can bet that right this moment the bankers are investing their bonuses
    buying notes on your petrol.

  13. The traditional nesting place of city types and east end gangsters. They
don't mind as expensive keeps the hoi polloi away from the area.

    Cool.

If it keeps the proles off the roads, I'm all for it.

I actually learned to ride doing that route so many times (did my test in
'98 and hadn't a clue). And lots of trackdays later, I could almost call
    myself a bit quick!

In fact, I think quite a few newbies got "broken in" on botafots.

And I met some excellent people. It was quite a social event. Far too many
    fag breaks though.

One of the Gilera crew 15 years ago (raced a Saturno with a pukka 558
race kit), had one. Big sort of saloon thing that was though. He pranged
it at the 'ring'. Not on the 'prepared course' ironically but at the
entrance in interface with a local car IIRC. The problems he had trying
to get it repatriated to the UK were expounded on at length.

I think one problem with the likes of Maserati and Lamborghini, while
they were still independent, was that they didn't have the money to
    invest in developing proper handling.
