I ride the Versys more than any other bike that I've owned in the past
5 years. It just makes me want spend the extra time kitting up to ride
when it would be all too easy to jump in the car or van.

When I had the RGV and the SV in the garage, I always usd the RGV if I
could, despite it being a pain in the arse to start and being hideously
uncomfortable, thirsty and fragile. Whereas the SV was fairly competent
    and quite a bit boring.

Getting rid of the SV was a no-brainer after that. Now I have two bikes
I thoroughly enjoy riding, despite them being chalk and cheese.

was this "on the sick" or "working from home"?

Yers, there's nothing quite like getting abused in your own home by people
you barely know as well as getting abused on the road by car drivers you
    barely know.

I've owned great bikes and crap bikes, but no matter what bike, I've
_always_ enjoyed riding. If it's fettling with the machine that makes
it fun, one might as well do washing machines or chain saws. If, OTOH,
the thrill is hanging out with rufty tufty biker scum in leathers,
there must be a local disco with Village People near by.

I'm in that sort of position with the RC heli's. I've got around (well it
was exactly) 24 at the last count, but one or two have gone and one or two
(maybe more) have taken their places. None of them get the flying they
deserve anymore. I'm not even guessing at how much money is tied up in 'em.
And fly some of these bastards. Right, I will.

You can pile them up in a corner or spread them out across the floor
depending on your biker needs of the week. sorted :)

Just subscribe to MCN and Performance Bike and at least the postman will
    know you're still a ruftie-tuftie.

Hah! Note I said "this afternoon". I worked from 0930 to 1330, then
    went skiing.

I'm signed off to 80% working still, but going in most days. Just
about to leave as I sit here at this ridiculous hour of the morning.

That does actually appeal, but is one a bit old at 40 to start?

I'm trying to recall. I struggle enough with my own name, never mind
anyone else's! Len? Les? Anyway, it was the chap that put up F's TV aerial.

No. I had my first dry slope lessons followed by a week in, yes you've
guessed it, Soll, when I was 40. March it was and our instructor said we
had got some of the best snow of the season. Followed that in December
with a week in Tignes with SWMBO to be.

We are going to Mont Dore for three days at half term.

Paging Colin to the mature skier help line.

Hmm. So another Speed Triple might be in order.
Or put it towards the Maserati fund (which of course has a public
service component that it will give you lot something to take the piss
    out of more)

Heh. Many of the characters remind me of when I was in the VMCC.
I was the only bugger who turned up to meetings on a bike , yet when
it came to the annual Run a multitude of fabulous machines
would appear. You could expect it of the 70+ year olds , but the guys
in their 40's and 50's had the same mindset.
