The riding bug appears to have bitten a bit harder than usual this year,
and I find myself taking a bike to work rather than use the Prius.

So, I could do with some kind of rack for the Ducati.

How close in terms of frame design are the early Monsters to the mid 90s
    SuperSport range?

Givi list a monorack suitable for Monsters, but not for the SuperSport -
so was kind of wondering if it might fit?

(Finally got around to fitting the topbox rack to the BMW today, so will
be bolting a monorack baseplate to that, with a view to buying the Givi
    laptop bag / briefcase thing)

    How much!?
I could buy a whole bike for less than the cost of the rack and bag....

Looking at the cost of the Givi bag, I'm no longer tempted - but I have
a couple of different sized monorack cases here, so a monorack would be
    the preferred solution.

Also, being able to swap the case or bag between BMW and Ducati would be
handy - the Ventura stuff fails this requirement.

  3. Get a Ventura - I've had one on my SS from new.

Alternatively - put a Ventura rack on both bikes. Simples.

Even cheaper - go for a standard 'sports rack' and put a bigger loop on
it to fit and secure a Ventura bag.

Not sure you can get one for the SOBMW - even if you could, I suspect it
means losing the OEM pannier racks.
This is what I've looked at - but can't find a 'sports rack' for the
    Ducati.

If I were handy with the welding kit, I could fabricate something using
an old TRX850 rack I have kicking around the garage.

It's academic because I don't think Givi actually do them any more and they
are hardly ever seen on eBay either. We had no end of trouble sorting
something out for my son's Monster.
