On a typical Monday morning, how long should I allow to get from the
ObPub to East Midlands Airport for 0900 hours?

Assuming you'll be in a car and taking any of the more well known roads
maybe as long as 40-50 mins, at least 20 of those will be sitting in
traffic. There are always huge jams at the end of the A50, and round
the A38/A52 Junction, and various bits of the A6.

Best bet might be to take the A38 north instead of south, to the little
eaton roundabout, then A61 (Alfreton Road) round to the A52, Out to M1
J25, then back off the M1 at J24 and to the airport. That's normallly
    almost all free-flowing.

We'd normally head straight in to Derby through Kedleston, straight over
the A38 along Kedleston Road, then Duffield Road, King St., St.
    Alkmund's Way, Eastgate onto A52.
Hmmm... that doesn't look like it avoids much from what we'd do
normally, so we might just stick to our original plan and allow at least
    an hour.

I've no idea where the ObPub is, but it takes me 45-50 minutes from getting
on the M1 at J29 to arriving at J24A if I'm trying to arrive at 9. For a
monday morning, and as airports are fussy about time, I'd allow an hour and
a half, which should leave you 15 minutes to spare.
