    Ah well the title didn't come up in the google groups search and I
    hadn't seen it before.

    It's interesting to speculate about falls down very steep slopes which
    roll out gently at the base. I've seen vid of a couple of mind
    boggling survivals and recall the incident where a bomber crew bailed
    at altitude and someone survived, Russian I think, without a
    parachute, when he landed on a very steep snowy mountain side. It's in
    the GBOR.
