Thanks for the reminder, that is not what I wish to become.

Zactly. And then how are they going to deliver on this ****-off big
    contract?
    It's more a '70s nostalgia thang:

  4. Yup. Saw that when I worked at Galileo - the Swindon development centre
produced cleaner code faster than the US site and was much more cost
effective. They needed to make cost savings so rather than trim the US
operation they closed the Swindon site - anticipating that a lot of
people would take up their offer of relocation to the US. Of a
programming staff of 200+ only 6 took them up on their offer!

6 months later (having divested themselves of 90% of their UK assets)
they realised what a big mistake they had made and wanted to re-open
the Swindon centre but were told by the UK taxman that the big tax
write-off they had been given would have to be paid back in full *plus
    interest*.

Needless to say they never did re-open the Swindon centre and got taken
    over fairly shortly afterwards.

    Clueless muppets.

If only AN had taken the HBOS offer. But then again, HBOS would have
run a mile once they had a chance to look at the books. **** Ian
Harley and the horse he rode in on :(
