  1. If one had to spend 5 nights near Henlow, where would you recommend?

The suggestion is the Carriage House Hotel in Shefford, but the best
part of a week in Shefford seems like a long time to me.

There's the Sun in Hitchin, never stayed there but the food's good. And
there are plenty of pubs and restaurants around. Shouldn't take you more
than fifteen minutes tops to get to Henlow from Hitchin first thing in
the morning (you're going against most of the traffic).

Give us a shout when you're about and we'll round up a few locals for a
    beer or two.

    Ho YUSS!

It is, however, quite important to me that I am not driving on this
    occasion.

I expect I could make it by bicycle in an emergency.

Last year I cycled three miles to the station, got on a train, cycled
two miles to a pub, danced the Morris for three hours, then cycled
    eleven miles home.

I was fucked for two days afterwards, like, but that's not the point is
    it?

I haven't had alcohol for two month and a beer or two sounds most inviting.
