Paging the aviation anoraks and fans of Shadetree Engineering

  1. This is a little long for some attention spans at 21 minutes:

But it's as fine an example of Shadetree Engineering as you could wish
for. Crashed your floatplane in Bumfucked, Alaska? No worries. A
generator, some rechargeable drills, rope and a bit of four-be-two, and
you'll be back in the air in *four days*.

    I doff my hat.

I have already made the greatest contribution to the fight against climate
change that I can make: I have decided not to breed. Now quit bugging me and
go and talk to the Catholics.

  2. The landing sites are ludicrous! I love the idea of living in the
wilds of Alaska, pickup in the garage, light aircraft in the back yard
with its own makeshift strip. Really must look into getting a PPL some
time before all the oil runs out...

I'll wage you wouldn't mind heading out that way, WUN...

  4. I got as far as watching the Go Goo Dolls live in Alaska DVD and a
close as Vancouver BC. We will be visiting Alaska some time in the
    future.

Hmm. UKRM road trip into the wild?

I've been to Alaska and the Yukon. Don't be tempted to play I-Spy
because 20 quadzillion trees makes for a dull game :)
