That's about it, yes. Unless something _really_ big goes wrong.

Invite Steve round and let him show you how much better value the dents
can be if you pay for them out of your own pocket.

Stick to the VW then. It'd be interesting to see how long your Alfas
with their infinitely superior electrics last.

Maybe I should ask my firm for a plaster and paint allowance

That's a bold statement, but i'm interested. Can you show me figures
that demonstrate it's possible to run a new or almost new (and well
specced) car, replacing it every 80K miles or 4 years, for less than
£1200 a year of your own money... whilst including the insurance and
    maintenance in this budget.

If so I'd be hugely grateful, and quite frankly astounded.

New plugs eh? First sign of a failing turbo that - dead plugs.

And deck chairs, we should be comfortable...

Do we need score cards, y'know, 7.5 for artistic effort etc...

I think the public would prefer "freeview"...

  10. Mine failed at 125k on the first BX, with signs the 60k it did before
I got it was to blame..

Second BX clear still at just under 150k.
So why not look after the car? Especially if there is no evidence of
maintained oil pressure or circulation post shut down?

No skin off my nose to do a sensible run down and a little idle.
