My new(er) Nitro helmet F317 decided not to let me have my head back today.
The release catch, didn't and after much huffing and stretching of lug'oles
I managed to free my oddshaped head from said container.
Is it possible to buy a new release cable thing wot goes in the chin bar?
    The cable has snapped.
Could you point in the right direction or is it new lid time?

    Taa.

Loz saw the light, and no longer represents Nitro helmets. I can help
you; unfortunately (for you; not for me, oh no) I'm off work for a
week (yippee). Email me and I'll put you in touch with someone who
can help, if I can't pull some strings myself. On that note, has it
genuinely snapped, or just come off the runners? It's worth checking,
    as it does happen.

    Greybeard says...
As far as I know they don't supply cables for them, the cable breakage
problem is why they were taken out of production. I fear you may be
looking at purchasing a replacement now that one is over the one year
    old.

Certainly give the Head Office a call to find out, but I no longer work
for them so I'm unable to help.

    <email pending>

    Nope it's broke.
Same happened to my previous one. No big issue as It looks fairly easy to
replace if I can get the wire. If not I'll probably be able to hash up
something that'll do. Maybe a heavier piece of steel rope might be the
    answer ;o)

Ah right, wondered why I hadn't seen them around lately. I like the lid. The
wire gizmo is a bit heath-robinson TBH but I'm sure I can rustle up
    something if needed.
Can you recommend a similar flip lid instead? should I decide that route?

Just for info - my Schuberth flip-up uses a bicycle cable to link the
two side catches too, and this requires adjustment every few months to
avoid my head being held hostage.
I couldn't get it off without opening the catches although I was on the
verge of having a friend try & dismantle it on my head.

    Ding!
The light goes on. That is what I'll do tomorrow, pop into the local cycle
shop and get a cable. Not sure I'll be able to get any crimp ferrules
though. Have to think of something to make the loops with.
    Thanks for the suggestion.

Will you be buying another helmet with the same shit design or have
you come to the conclusion that if you pay next to **** all you'll get
    next to **** all?
