    Champ/Alex/etc...

Have you raced at Donington? Got any tips for it?

ACU licence and DP forms sent off ... only 8.5 weeks
to go so I suppose I better get some practise in there!

Yes - on the National circuit (without Melbourne loop)
Not that I can type here. I read the MCN cicuit guide quite
assiduouslyly - it has a page per corner, and does help - I recommened
getting hold of an up to date copy - it covers all the main UK
circuits, and costs about 20 quid, as I recall
What? So while Darsy and Porl witter uselessly about going racing,
you're just up and doing it? Way to go.

Best thing to remember about the Melbourne loop is it's slightly off
camber. And you go into it very very quick.

Thanks. I didn't think it would be that good, being an
MCN production! I know the club gets 20% off or something
at CSS so I can get it through their online shop.
Not much to do is there? Fill in two forms, get an
eye-sight test done, sit half-day ACU introduction,
    go racing!

Except I'll be on an uncompetitive bike but at least
the club are paying the fees and I won't be expected/
pressured to do well! All I need to do now is get
the front brake lines changed and some new tyres.

On my 748 as the ZXR has developed gearbox problems :-(
We managed to get a new set of fork legs (the only parts
needed) off ebay for 26.50, so it's just the engine that
    needs sorting now.

The Ducati Sporting Club have setup a racing bursary to help
get prospective racers started and promote the club at the
same time. They're paying for ten places at Donington with
Derby Pheonix on the 3rd Oct, so if I get everything sorted
in time (and get a place booked) then I should be in.

*If* it turns out to be a good day, then I could possibly
start doing it properly next season. DP don't allow the
750cc Twins into their SuperSport category though, so it
will be either getting mullered in the 750cc 4s/1000cc Twins,
buy a cheap 9[1|9]6 or try the ZXR, but that's no quicker
than my 748 at the moment anyway!
Cheers. I think there's someone in the club who already has
some and is donating them, but if not I'll let you know.

You going on your own? Look out for my pikey white Renault Master
with the white awning. Give me a shout if you need any help.

So do you have to do anything to get it through scrutineering?

As I said to Champ, all I need to do is change the
front brake lines and I'm sorted.

This is like pullnig teeth, you don't *have* to talk about it if you don't
    want to.

Just in case though, is that because it's unnecessary under your club's
rules or because you've already done it?

I already have trackday fairings with a catch tray.
Fairings are swapped with 10x Dzus fasteners. 2 pins
for the seat which includes the rear lights. 3 bolts
for the numberplate/rear indicators. 1 bolt for each
front indicator. One bolt for each mirror.

All that needs lock-wiring are the sump, oil filler
and filter. I already have a rear chain guard. The
coolant is a piece of piss to change but I do need
to replace the front brake lines as they split below
    the bottom yoke.

You *have* read the regulations, haven't you?
