Stuff the technology, it just looks the part. I think that's an old GPz
fuel tank. I know for certain you'd have to be sectionable to get on the
    pillion seat...

"I'm going to read the articles and not just look at the pictures".

Having had a quick scan of the text the engine is v. similar to mine, and
mine has as light wheels and as bonker brakes. Doesn't have the forks or
monoshocked rear end - but conversions are readily available. He's
sourced a lot of bits off Jap machines; all the bits on mine are Italian
(this is a good thing honestly).

I'm not jealous in the slightest.

He reckons it's a one-off tank, but it looks like a GPz1100A tank to me.
I quite like the whole bike, but is it law to have lashed up electrics
on anything Italian. They could have tidied that wiring loom up a
    little.

They could also have found something a bit tidier than the old school tie to
    hold the seat on with.

....not to mention the one off billet battery tray.
I feel another "Guzzi" phase coming on.

He spends so much time dossing in sheds and garages that the inevitable must
have happened a few times now.

The big problem with it is that it's going to go for shedloads of money.
And even if it didn't, I'm too crap at looking after things to own such a
    nice bit of kit.

I appreciate how much work has gone into an impressive bike but if you
distill the /relevant/ mods it's basically the rear end to the frame; Jap
forks; White Power shock and uprated brakes.

Rear end conversions are available and not too badly priced. I'd also
recommend reading the description with your bullshit detector "ON"

Sigma Computer Speedo: It's got a bicycle speedo
P3 race cam: It's a standard Guzzi cam (same as mine)
hotter than a Le Man admittedly.
36mm Dellorto carburettors: Standard - mine are 40mm (willy waggle alert)
Renthal braced alloy moto cross bars: ermm "Flying Frog"
Original Le Mans Mk 1 tail light: Original to most 70's Italian...
    Mine's MZ
Fiamm horn: If I said "Lucas lights" would you be impressed?
GSXR750J forged pegs: Not Tarozzi. I suppose 'forged' sounds so
    much better

The rest of it is mainly guff. I am intrigued by the three bearing rear
wheel. Mine's got four bearings including the support from the bevel box.

I'm not decrying it in anyway it's a Dr. John inspired machine that
handles and stops better than original. It's got to be good.

What says more is what isn't said IYSWIM.

The engine is stock. The electrics (that count) are pretty much stock -
what no Suprissa Generator? (THE mod to replace the Bosch)

One off loom: Lots of blue crimps on wires from Halfords.

Ignition: Same old points? No Lucas Rita?

Later switch gear - not some "classic Miller" switches from the custom
catalogue - if you're going to replace them there's some quality switches
from Italy not the crappy old pattern Brit stuff.

    However,
The frame and back end is very desirable....

The rest? I'd spend my money slightly differently.
