Right, I picked up the new scanner, which even seems to be working.
Bonus. So, who of you wants first dibs on my old scanner then?

I quick peek on fleabay suggests that they're going for more than I
thought - price range seems to be 155-250 quid for Scan Dual IIIs and
IVs, which are pretty much the same scanner but differ in the colour of
    the box. Or somesuch.

How does a UKRM price of 145 quid for the scanner sound? It's not boxed
but comes with both film holders and the software.

Okay, I'll drop you an email later on. Paypal? Could you also figure
out how much to post to France? Unless someone on the underground
railway could bring it to me next Thurs/Fri?

Won't be able to figure out how much the postage to France is until
Friday (working from home, you see). The last film scanner I sent off
to lands foreign went to boxheadland and I *think* that cost me nearly
    thirty quid.

  6. I'm going for a weekend in Chepy, in about three weeks' time.

Hmm. I could try to pack it up and see if I can bike it over to you if
Cab can pick it up if that would make sense for him.

What route will you be taking to get down there?

That's clear then. Through Belgium? Or going near Paris?

Timo, is there any chance of you dropping it off with the underground
railway for the drinks session next week?

I can act as Mule for this one, if necessary. Timo knows where I work,
and it's only round the corner from him.

However, it does depend on a) where we're drinking and b) how large/
heavy the item in question is...

You know, I was thinking of the "Woodin's Shades" on Bishopsgate. How
    does that sound?

    I don't think it's that heavy. Timo?

Um, if you look at a map, Chepy is near Abbeville, so nowhere near
Paris, no. Of course, you haven't been in France long enough to get a
feel for the country, so I understand.

sure - though bear in mind I'm not in the UK between the 12th and 19th
    of September inclusive.

    :pp

I made a mistake with the spelling of "Chepy" and had used "Cheppy".
Even then upon reflection, the most practical route avoids Paris.
