Heh, that's silly. On my FZR I need to remove the radiator to change the
plugs, which I thought was a little silly.
I had a book with a Jag V12 engined hotrod in it, like a T-bucket it
    was, lovely.
Nice, but still a bit OTT for queuing in traffic jams. ;)

On the R80RT, I can change the heads, cylinders, pistons etc without
    removing the fairing.

At 18,000rpm I bet that they would change themselves... well.. half
    change. :)

It's a proper bloke's bike, with no need for shrill, girly revs.

Bear was seen penning the following ode to ... whatever:
TBH, I think anything more than opening and closing the bonnet may
well be beyond the average home mechanic on one of these...

At least it's got a proper chain, not a pansy foo foo shaft.

I'd have something long and rigid over something limp and floppy and in need
    of continuous lubrication any day.

That's for people who feel the need to point their bottoms in the
direction of a long hard shaft.

I don't point my bottom at anything, I sit up properly. It's the
sprots-bike riders that adopt the arse-in-the-air,
    fart-in-your-general-direction posture.

  15. Crap, if I can remove and re-fit a Jag V12 (XJS) then anybody can do it.

Also I can't remember the aircon getting in the way of the rear plugs,
however it may be the front ones[1], the pump sat in the V right at the
front and was commonly junked cos it broke. A lot. Access to the engine
is surprisingly good, I got the engine out in a couple of hours (no
ramp, just an engine lift). Refitting is the reverse of removal. Ahem.

I'd love an XJS, but petrol costs would kill me :-(

[1] But it's 10 years since I looked at one of those in anger.[2]
[2] Place I worked got on front cover of Practical Classics for XJS
    resto. Then went bust.
