Dropt a valve. Prolly. I haven't got around to stripping it down, but the
noise and the chopped-up business end of the spark plug is evidence enuff.

When the head comes off a valve, and you have a chunk of metal the size
(initially) of a £2 coin being tenderised at 6Krpm, the result is going to
be wildly unpretty. I expect that the inside of the combustion chamber will
look like someone's been at it wif a blunt hatchet. Casualties will include
head, barrel & piston, the conrod may be fuct and there's the possibility of
    crank damage.

Still, mustn't grumble, good excuse to buy the Trofy etc.

much, and how far from Brisle?

  13. pity it's got a lunched top end, I quite fancy a set of 800cc barrels to go
on mine. After carefully removing any indication of capacity, of
    course...:)

spose I could fit one of 'em and have an R70...

Depends on which R60: they're modified K100 telescopic forks on the
monolever R80RT, and probably won't suit Earles-forked versions. Anyway,
I'm a bit north of Brizzle: if you're in the vicinity, pop in and have a
lewk. HBoL reckons stanchion OD is 38.425-38.450mm, which might be 2.5mm
    too big for you.

smaller ones for "all other models".

    bugger.

wonder if the yokes would fit an' all... hmmm. only lists one kind of
    steering head bearings...

    pot on the other, apparently.
