I rode bitch with Whinging Courier today. Although I've taken
pillions I've never been one before. Although he didn't do anything
wrong, his riding was fine and the ordeal only lasted 200 yards I was
    fucking terrified.

Perhaps the terror transforms into enjoyment after a while.

I think he had the opportunity to cadge a lift from WUN after his
    Kawasaki bled to death.

I have never been uncomfortable, but never terrified.

ime, if terror catches hold, the only thing it transforms into is
hysteria or possibly whimpering. you have to put yourself into a
particular state of mind before starting out. set dial to Pillion Mode.

Does leaving the seat over bumps induce hysteria? If it does then you
    hide it well.

yeah that didn't much sense did it? sometimes uncomfortable - never
terrified- but then I never did go pillion with you before you got rid
of your bike did I? ;)

No. Going pillion is shit, there's no two ways about it. I've only ever
done it out of necessity (going to pick up new bike, going to hospital
after crashing bike, only chance of getting a ride on a Fireblade at 17,
etc) and I'd never do it by choice.

I don't really enjoy going pillion but I do it if I want to get
somewhere without riding my own bike. Examples of this are doing laps
of the island on the back of both Alex Ferrier and Champ. Admittedly
the lap on the back of Alex was because he wanted to get his own back
for me trying to lob him off the back of my own bike when he had his
    arm in plaster.
