no, sure - I only posted that link because it was the one that Sean
emailed me. I'm happy to see it somewhere central; S. would probably
    want to come along.

....which seems to be fairly useless because it's not showing anywhere
    til the Wednesday.

    Could do any day, really.

The big premier was last night, with Hutchy, Guy Martin and a bunch of
others in attendance. There was quite a bit of gushing praise being
    tweeted afterwards.

Only thing that puts me off is those fucking 3d specs.

Guy Martin was on the BBC this morning, as Krusty mentioned. As always
he came across as a slightly bemused greasy northern Wolverine, though
this time with a product-placement-style sweatshirt.
I understand they're a pain if you have to wear them over normal specs
    - but that's what god invented contact lenses for.

I've been looking into (!) contact lenses again recently. Tried them
when I was 18 and ended up unconscious within a minute or so of them
going in, which wasn't an auspicious start.

Tried them again a couple of weeks ago and once they were in they were
fine. Result. Tried them again earlier this week and only got a lens in
one eye, and that felt deeply uncomfortable.

I fear contacts aren't for me.

Anyway, Wednesday or Thursday? Have a look at times for the Vue at
Leicester Square (unless you can find a suitable alternative venue).

Odd - though I know someone else who that happened to and even when
they came round they were (psychosomatically, if you ask me) blind for
    another 5 hours.
What sort are you trying? I use CibaVision Vision one-day disposibles,
and after about 2 seconds orientation after putting them in, you
wouldn't know you were wearing them until about 10-12 hours later.
They're not cheap, though, and the fact I only wear them 2-3 days a
    week probably helps.
lets pencil in for the 19:00 on Wed - need to check with S., and I'll
    confirm later.

Acuvue Moist the first time, and again for the first attempt the second
time. My eyelids were just flinging them straight out. Eventually got
one Acuvue Trueeye in, but it wasn't comfortable. All dailies.

    OK.

You probably aren't seating them on the eyeball properly, which is why
your eyelids are catching them. Try wiggling them around slightly in a
circle just after you put them in.

The best fun is yet to come: when you find you can't get them out.

I needed to try several types before I found the one that best fit the
curvature of my eyeball. They *should* have all been the same, but it
didn't actually appear to be the case.
Remember to wash hands thoroughly before doing so, especially if you've
    been chopping chillies earlier!

Tried some a few weeks ago and they were lovely and easy to go in,
hardly felt them at all, very comfortable. Big difficulty was getting
them out, no way, optician eventually fished them out for me when I gave
up after half an hour. Haven't been back for another shot but I'll try
again, the technology has certainly improved a lot over the last 10 years.

The way I do it, and I can do this when very pissed, which is a good
thing, is kind of pinch them out.

So put your finger and thumb on each side of the lens and draw together,
    easy peasy.

Worst thing I have ever done is have a bath with them in, forgot, rubbed
my eyes and pushed a lens behind the eyeball.

That was a twat to get out...
