think calm thoughts - small sailboat on calm azure waves...gentle
breeze wafting through amber autumnal woodland...etc.

  10. I've improved on that - now I keep it turned off *and* it stays at home.

    Nurse - Mr Blaney's room .... now!

I still don't understand why Ben gets so wound up about this.

So why bother even owning one?
Just kind of defeats the whole point of having a mobile phone.

    The memory amuses me.

  13. I may take it with me if I think I may need to use it in an emergency -
e.g. a long trip away in the uk or if out on the bike in case I break
    down.

I don't have any desperate need to be constantly in communication with
people. I just cannot fathom why people need to call / text other people
on seemingly trivial matters from morning til night.

I also don't like telephones but accept they are a useful aid.

Fair enough, but in that case why bother? There're always emergency
phones, phones etc that you can use in a pinch.
Neither do I, so I turn it off or don't answer when I don't want to.
Sounds like that's the crux of it. It's not the mobile per se for
you, it's the fact that it's a phone in the first place.
