I've deleted four potential replies to that. I'll let you know if and
when I can think of a generally acceptable response.

Don't worry about it. If you're not crashing, you're not trying hard
enough. This simply means that you're not over the hill yet.

    4ax.com:

Many jockeys have the centre portion of the bone removed. The bone is
effectively redundant in the human skeleton. The procedure means they get a
bit of bruising rather than a break should Dobbin do a stoppie.

<g> That's kind, but not accurate.

In terms of trying hard, having a regular pillion with nerves of steel
means I actually feel free to go as fast as I want to on the roads,
which removes one of the reasons for doing track days. My undoing may
well have been the determination to go significantly faster on the
track than on the road, and thus beyond my ability.

Pat would actually prefer me to give up track days, but only because
whatever happened on the bike thereafter would happen to us both
together. That sentiment appeals, for several reasons.

Or gallases, as they're know locally.

    Not much by ukrm standards

but I am a little bit proud of it. Not looking forward to the local
    fracture clinic, though.

Heh. I'm supposed to be fully fit in the next month or so. I still feel
a little tender with twisting, but forward-backward and side-to-side
    movements are coming along.

At least sitting on the bike isn't massively uncomfortable anymore.

The "RT" is the giveaway: you have a BMW clavicle. That's why it's broken.

So long as you get your exhaust valves replaced at 60K miles.
