Not exactly the first time those two phrases have been seen together,
    either.

  4. "Yuk" is getting perilously close to "yum"

You don't want to sound like a Furbie do you?

    "sound like", "look like".

    What's the difference?

  8. No.

Have I ever thought seriously might be a better question.

Am I the only person to ever own a Stan Stephens tuned RD and not blow
    it up?

My Stan Stephens RD500 never went bang[1]. A lovely job it was too. More
power everywhere especially at the top end. Shame I could never afford
    to replace the standard exhausts.

[1] Well not after SS rebuilt it.

Stan and his eldest son, Harley, are still trading from home in
Sevenoaks. His other son, Garry, works for one of the dealers I supply.
I quite like a lot of Harris' own stuff. Their Ohlins compatible
steering damper fitting kits are the equal of anything else out there,
Ohlins included. I'm almost tempted to get an Ohlins damper purely
because I like the look of the Harris fitting kit[1] that relaces the
ugly black screen brace on the 9R.

[1] That and the fact that they have been mightily reduced to 60 quid
plus the cost of the damper.

Very possibly. Its the only work I had done by SS, but I've heard good
and bad about them. He's a grumpy fucker on the phone mind.
IIRC he's gone back to being a 1 man band now.

Riding like a girl was what put holes in my LC pistons.
It was fine at WFO, just a bit lean at half throttle.
Can't remember who ported it. Some chap in Erith.

    Champ says...
In Bear's defence he's dead right about the damper fitting kits. Harris
are the official UK importers and only supply their own, so getting a
genuine Ohlins one is impossible. You can only get Harris ones over
here, even though they are as good, if not better than, genuine Ohlins
    kit.

It's why and how they became the Ohlins importers. Sprint were based on
early Ohlins designs used under licence. From what I can make out there
was a lot of legal wrangling going on over that one, but no-one lost,
no-one won. Sprint got their designs to themselves and a market for
them, Harris got an Ohlins importer deal. Everyone's happy, even the
    punters.

I've been tracking this as well, shame I just bought a nice standard one
to replace the paint damaged one I had:

It would have looked lovely with my new shock.
