What suspension settings did you find best on your 'Ace? I am running
mine on the standard ones in the book and have Dunlop 208s fitted. I
weigh 12.5 stone and I find the bike runs wide unless I shift my weight
and countersteer slightly more than feels comfortable.

IIRC I put my settings back to standard but still found the rear too
stiffly sprung, so backed it off further. I do remember backing off the
front preload by one ring too. I only weigh about 10 1/2 to 11 stone and
I found that shifting weight around/hanging off like a gibbon was the
only real way to help the bike turn in quicker and hold a line. I left
the compression and rebound as the manual said.

Mine was originally on BT020s, but I changed them for D207RRs, which I
found made a hell of a difference to the handling. It was far more
surefooted on the Dunlops and they inspired a great deal more confidence
when cranked over. They also helped the bike turn in faster but a
downside was the slight instability when the throttle was used hard over
bumpy road surfaces. The bars would flap, but it never flapped enough to
get me worried that it would become uncontrollable. They didn't wear too
badly for sticky tyres. I'm told D208RRs are just as good, but the
cooking D208, as you have, hasn't had the best reviews.

That said, I loved the way the bike handled. You could get it over at
some silly angles of lean at daft speeds and it never gave me a moment's
concern once I'd played with the suspension.
