Have you got any carb bits floating around from your old Yam strokers? Specifically I`m after a float needle (yep that`s all) from a Mikuni VM28 off a Yam RD350lc ypvs or if it`s the same part (which I suspect) one from a Mik VM26 as used by the 250/350 lc`s non power-valve. Our carb starting pissing out after a day`s racing yesterday (not surprising as it is a £10 job from a breaker) and ordering a carb repair kit from M+P for £12 is fine but I`m not gonna pay £5+ for postage on something that can be wrapped around a pigeons leg! -- Petel .(cheapskate;-) 02 M2 Buell. Petel was seen penning the following ode to ... whatever: I'd say a fiver for delivery and dinner isn't too bad.
Petel says... Sorry Pete, I sold all the parts I had. I'll be visiting a breakers this week, I'll try and pick one up for you.
Ta mate, don`t put yourself out tho`, after really close inspection and a few tests it seems ok. It might have helped matters if we put an inline fuel filter in the bloody thing, one of the "things to do before racing" that didn`t get done :-/ Could use a spare float needle "just in case" though as the next run is in 4 weeks. -- Petel . 02 M2 Buell. Lozzo wrote Cool, can you pick me up a carb bottom for a 250 wet dream. I need the little rubber gasket thingy. Unless such things are still available new ... ?! Need to get these darn carbs back together ... P.
Zymurgy says... I wouldn't bother with a used gasket on a bike they stopped making 20 years ago. David Silver Spares, can't be much dosh for a new one.

Lozzo wrote Heh you're right. £15 for a rebuild kit incl gaskets. And a good website + quick response from sales support too. Cheers mate, Paul.
Aye, they're pretty damn good. Loadsa stuff for the 400/4, so a vital resource for me (and now blaney).
