I have a birthday coming up, and my old vertibra boots are starting to
    fall to bits.

What does the team think are the best replacements? Ideally,
comfortable, available in size 11, easy to walk in, cool in summer and
warm in winter and fully waterproof. Ideally with a bit of protection
    built in.

Easy to put on and remove would be handy too...

Budget 250 or so. Maybe a bit more for something worth it in the opinion
of the experts on here (well Lozzo really)...

    Some kind of Daytonas?

I still have the pair Lozzo flogged to me years ago.

I was thinking some Daytona type thing, but they make many fine boots.
And I know some are better than others...

Typical, deliver to the original spec and the customer changes the
    requirements....

I'm not a rigger (are you still allowed to call people that?) otherwise
I'd buy them like a shot...

TCS or Oxtar (same firm) or Daytonas. Just pick and choose whichever
ones from the ranges suit your needs.

TCS/Oxtar boots are all CE approved as PPE for professional
motorcyclists, which is something no Daytonas are.

    Cheers Lozzo,

Not heard of the TCS ones before. Do you rate them then? GLF sell them?

GLF don't sell them, but Flitwick Motorcycles do. I have a pair of
their Goretex sports boots myself and really rate them. Mine are badged
as Oxtars, but they had a name change to TCS after a court case with
    AlpineStars.

    Daytona Roadstar GTX.

They're a bit over your £250 budget price but they're waterproof,
comfortable and because they've got two zips plus calf adjustment
they're dead easy to get on and off.

I've not had mine long enough to be able to say that they're warm in
winter but they're certainly the most comfortable pair of boots I've
owned and the Goretex lining means no more stinky feet when you get
home. The only downside is that they're not fitted with toe sliders
but you can always lift your feet off the pegs when your toes start to
    bleed.

Cheers Andy - I was just looking at them.

Need to find a decent shop with some stocks and have a try on of them I
    think.

    Cheers Lozzo,

Will prbably have a ride down to Flitwick on Saturday - it's not that far
from here, and the local shops are a bit pants for togs.

GLF stock Daytonas and give 10% discount to those who admit to posting
    on ukrm.

I've often struggled to find bike boots that I could wear all day but
these ones are realy comfortable. I tried Daytonas a few years back
and they felt too narrow so I went for a pair of Oxstars but when I
had another go at Daytonas earlier this year they felt better and I've
been well pleased with them ever since.

    They're the ones I've got.

I rode the Ducati and BMW in February wearing them. My feet didn't get
    cold.

I have a pair of those too, but there's not much in the way of
protection. They are extremely comfortable, in fact I'm wearing them
right now an hour after getting off the bike and forgot I had them on.
They've done a lot of miles in shitty weather and my feet have never
    been cold or wet

These ones are about 6 or 7 years old, and were bought as a xmas
pressie from Bee. I've done shitloads of miles in them and they are
just coming up to the point where they need to go for a refurb. That's
another point in Daytona's favour, when they get worn out you can have
them rebuilt at the German factory.

As sports/touring boots go they are hard to beat, but as I said, they
don't offer much in the way of ankle or shin protection like Oxtars or
    even your old Sidis do

    Graham stocks Roadstar GTXs

I really like my Daytona Shair GTX - again, no toe sliders but warm in
winter, not too hot in summer lightweight and comfortable. Double-zip so
fairly easy to put on and take off.

  20. Plus who'd want to wear boots named after armpits.
