It is wonderful, I've only read it in its entirety a couple of times
but pieces of it appear in my various anthologies. It is one of those
works that can arouse a physical sensation of a place and feeling.
I'll look out for the latter.
Introducing the children to poetry has gained me lots of quiet moments
over the years. Daughter in particular has got to the stage where she
possibly has more poetry collections than I have.
lovely, you can read that and add your picture onto the one he creates
    with the words.

Again added to the list. I don't have enough Middle Eastern stuff.
Today I shall be mostly shifting between Tom Holt's 'The Walled
Orchard' and my collected greek verse.

Making a concious decision to take a sabbatical was a very good
choice. Until you stop you don't realise how much you needed the rest.

It's not poetry, more a travel book, but it's /wonderful/.
Look for "Birds Through A Ceiling Of Alabaster" - it's a collection of
pieces by three poets of the Abbasid era. Mu'tazz was of the Abbasid
dynasty, and actually assumed the Caliphate for a day and a night before he
    was killed...
Len Setright had this theory that, as the body renews itself every seven
years, by the age of 42 it'll have been through six renewals, and that would
be a good time to take a seven-year sabbatical. I've wasted most of my by
    continuing to work.

  12. Would that be LJK Setright, the famous biologist,
or just some motoring journalist who misunderstood
something he once read in a biology book?
