    I don't hold with this rubbish about bad starting vehicles there is no
    such thing, only bad mechanics. The one thing I do require of mine is
    that they start on the button. If they don't they get fettled properly.

    All the '60s BR locos and units I've worked have down for on switches.

    These things were designed and built by engineers who didn't seem to give
    a toss about whether they were familiar or easy to use.

    e.g. AWS reset [1] button on one class is in the same place as the
    engine(s) stop on another [2].

    Hilarious.

    [1] A largish button pressed, quickly, in response to a /loud/ warning
    horn when passing a cautionary signal.

    I saw you in Rudy's
    You were very high... Oops, no, wrong.
    I don't want to drink in ruins under a sky
    The belly of a wild ass.

    Nor under a roof that sieves rain with broken walls
    Which let in great mounds of soil.

    I want to drink in the morning when heaven appears
    Wearing a kaftan of voile;

    And the Eastern breeze goes for a stroll through a garden
    Full of blossom lapped with dew;

    And the bright sun is like a newly minted dinar.
