I'm tempted to ask what sort of money you think a lead systems
architect/design role, leading a team of 10 other technical designers
    should pay.

OTOH I'm not sure I want to hear the answer.

Do that but I have a recollection that they are full on Sat.
I suppose we could squeeze the 4 of us into the 4 poster depending on
    Mrs Eaton's sexual preferences, 01335 370206 anyway.

Maybe try Betty at the Wheelhouse next door 01335 370953

    There is also
    www.premiertravelinn.com/pti/hotelInformation.do?hotelId=23871 Derby
West 08701 977 072 which isn't far from the BH and we will pass it on
    the way.

I would have thought losing your job was quite high in the negative
karma stakes. Don't forget the hassles with the race bike either.

Well done Champ, you suck up as much good luck as you can get, and
everyone else on here for that matter. Maybe even Bear will get a
    motorbike too, you never know.

Depends on the sector and location, but if /I/ were applying for such a
role, I'd want at least 70K.

I thought that'd be the case, allowing a sensible amount for regional
variations I think that's firmed up a number I was considering would be
    the going rate too.

I know that too... Which is why it's useful to know what non-slave
wages should be, were I to start looking outside, or uhmm something.

  16. I was tempted to join the 'jammy ****' chorus, but no, it's just a
    result of what you know,

    Fortune favours the prepared, imo.

    Well, quite.

It seems the hotels are full-ish, so **** it. Two nights in a tent won't
    kill me.

    Probably.

If you really can't hack it (and lets face it, man of your age, cold
October nights, hard ground, not a good combination) there is a double
bed settee here which you'd be welcome to use.

Thanks, but I intend to be ver' ver' drunk, so the tent's probably the
    safer bet.
