I've seen things you people wouldn't believe.

V-maxs on fire off the hard-shoulder of the M25,.
I watched red-painted bulbs glitter in the dark out in a field
All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain

    that sort of thing?

I'm looking at something like this:

    http://search.autotrader.co.uk/es-u...GUSTA&model=&min_pr=&max_pr=6000&max_mileage=

presumably the bearing's not going to be an issue at that mileage?

It shouldn't be, as long as it hasn't been spannered by a wanker &
jetwashed to within an inch of its life.

If you want some more in-depth advice/opinions, ask on the MV Yahoo
group (which I happen to run) -
    http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/MV-Agusta/ Plenty of Brutale
owners on there, some of whom have done big miles.

    <illusions shattered>

With his name I sort of imagined him as a cross between a 1960s secret
    agent and a 1930s toff.

Is he as orange as darsy?

Anyone read the new culture novel yet? I spotted it in Waterstones
window but wasn't in an M mood.

Fraid not. I've recently fallen out of love with SF and am having a
sabbatical from it for a while.

reading the reviews, most of the people who don't like it don't like
The Algebraist either[1]. Since I really liked that book, this bodes
    well for the new one.

[1] I suspect they missed the fact that it was a work of irony.

I mostly agree, but (and this may come as a surprise) every now and
again I get a little bit impatient and want something NOW!
I think I'll wait until then.

    *ding*

    or occasionally, if the hardback's a little out-of-the-ordinary, I'll
go for it. For instance, I was going to buy the paperback of Adam
    Robert's "Splinter", when I noticed a signed (no. 701 out of 1000!!!)
limited edition box set of the hardback + the hardback of the Jules
Verne book ("Off on a Comet") which was the inspiration for Robert's
book. £20, but a nicely bound and printed set.

Yes, I'd have got that if I'd seen it.

I used to have a dreadful boxed set and slip case habit which I think
I've broken. Last I can remember getting (which reminds me the Harvey
Wood/Byatt Memory anthology is rather good) is a Sarah Waters one of
the first three books. Must move Nightwatch up the to be read pile.
