  1. Sorry mate. Today's off.

I've got a good excuse though.

12:15 dentist appointment (not that good of an excuse)

3:30 Picking up keys to my new flat :)

As I'll be busy getting my shit together and packing all my crap away
from this place I won't have a lot of time this week.

BTW, if there's anyone selling anything or preferably giving anything
away that might be useful when moving from furnished to unfurnished I'd
be obliged if you could post details and then I can decide if I'm going
    to turn it down.

    Cheers.

I've got a DVD player that doesn't work properly anymore. But I think a guy
like you could sort it out.

Thank you, and OMFG, I knew house moving was stressful but this......

I really won't bore you with /all/ the details, but suffice it to say
that there is no record of ever having gas, despite the fact there's a
gas meter and brand new central heating, there's a debt on the electric
I've got to wait in for so the bloke can come round and fix it (in an
empty house, with no electric, no gas, no nothing) for five hours so
that I can find out he probably won't be there.

Gnnn, then there's the water. I won't even *start* on the water, and
that's all in the first day. Christ, I've got to be in there by the
    14th.

Anyway, the good news is, it'll probably be pissing down so I'll not be
able to go out for a fag, the miserable old gits.

Thanks, Jen. Your offer is much appreciated.

    How's the Bindit going?

  9. tis going very well. does what it says on the tin [1] and is precisely
what I need for my 25 mile commute. In some ways its more fun to ride
than the trumpet [2] as I don't have to think about it and it wont get
    me into trouble.

[1] but not binned it *yet*.

    ATM? Everything.

I've got family and friend beetling round doing stuff and I'm off out in
a minute to have a look through the hallowed pages of the Argos
catalogue for some stuff to put up at the windows to stop squatters
    before I move in.

I've never had such a PITA moving. Even now with just the services. It's
    worse than some nightmares.
I'll be officially moving in on Monday but I don't have to leave here
until 21st at the very latest so that gives me a week to sort everything
out. Only then will I really know what I need. I suppose I posted this a
    bit early... :)
It may very well do. Thank you.

I'll know pretty much for sure what I need by this time next week.

    Cheers.

I tried to find an Index 'cos the cunts at Argos had run out of fucking
catalogues. Can you believe that, what an utter bunch of cunts.

    I have a cunning plan :)

My duvet cover's looking a bit shit ATM, I'm gonna cut that fucker up
and use that. I can sleep under a sweat stained duvet for less than a
week, it can't smell any worse than the pillow ;-)
Well that casts a beam of shafty light onto my plight then.

The Tansco are saying there's no record of any gas being there or ever
being there, despite the fact there's a ****-off meter there and a pip
that's fatter than my cock. The electric is a bit easier to sort out
because there is a record of that although as you say, someone has got
to come round to see it. Why the need to see a meter is beyond me, but
there you go, that's utilities for ya.

At least the fucking water's on now. That's the one I thought I was
going to have the most trouble with. Getting all my bills and phone
moved, internet, and all those other bits you take for granted is going
to be a piece of piss by comparison.

Yes, but frankly the site is just way too big.

Say I want a bed, there's heading for double bed, single bed and king
size bed. Then there's metal bed, wooden bed, beds with storage...

Agghhh, I just want a fucking bed!

Of course I can look but I don't know what I want until I see it. A
bleedin' drop down for pikies would be handy, too: like a lowest price
    to highest showing all categories.

I've just got back from having a fag in Hyde park (and I think one came
and sat next to me, that's why I left) and my flat is still in one piece
so I'll take your advice and have another look.

    Cheers.

  16. just select the beds one and IIRC theres a toolbar on the top that
has something like a 'show all' and 'sort by price'.

    <Rolls eyes>

    Didn't try Edgware Rd.
We've got some of the Roama sofas they've got on promotion here ATM. I
remember when they turned up about two years ago. They've had much usage
and are still going strong. They actually look better now than when they
    were new.

As for beds, well, time will tell. I know from experience that a cheap
bed won't last five minutes[1] so that's something I don't want to skimp
    on.

Just getting an idea ATM. I've always lived in furnished places so all
this buying furniture malarkey is completely new concept.

    [1] Or maybe that's just me ;-)
