Beav banged the rocks together and they said :
I followed Ginge and AndyB. Both their bikes showed the same symptoms.

Didn't follow Champ so can't comment, but do wonder if its a design
    problem.

What about mine on the BOTAFOT?

Although it may be a false reading because there wasn't many of those
corners that I actually even braked on.

I hardly used the brakes, just cogged down occasionally and let the
slipper clutch deal with any momentary excess.

    Correct.

My brake light switch works off pressure only and because the brakes
don't need much effort to stop the bike the light rarely comes on.

It's not a design problem because my brake light switch is completely
different to Champs. I'd put it down to neither of us needing to brake
that hard, if I'm following Champ and we're both going for it a bit
then the braking is usually very late and very hard for a short
    period.

Simian banged the rocks together and they said :
Nope, a thing I'm planning on doing though.
I know, but on the other hand I've been on enough BOTAFOTs to get to
    know peoples riding styles.

Also if engine braking is enough to stop from 110 to < 5 coming upto a
    roundabout there's something wrong!

  9. You stop at the lights? How quaint.

    I try not to.

Easier of course with systems you know well and I don't always pull it
off but I like to arrive at the line in an orderly manner just as they
    go green.

Unless something needs adjusting and then I'll be there before them and
have moved over a bit when I stop to give them room to make prats of
    themselves.

Yes, especially then. cog all the way down to 1st, and have the fun of
    going back up the box.

    Happy now?

I don't mean this to sound derogatory but if you haven't managed to scrub
the paint off the tyres I doubt you are riding anywhere near aggressively
enough to get the slipper clutch to do its thing[1], unless you are just
doing it in straight lines of course.

[1] I really have to push the gixxer to get the slipper to kick in.

This is the only way to drive artics through towns and cities, especially
when you are loaded to the hilt and therefore having to use the top 12 of
your 16 gears. One road in particular springs to mind... A10 between the
north circular and the M25. I have beaten chavs in their super novas up
there before simply by timing my arrival at the lights.

It's definitely not a problem with them all. I've followed Christofire
(ZX10-R too) and his brake lights work fine. His brakes do too, which was
    VERY fortunate.

I'll approach it from a different tack, those of us not blessed with
AndyB/Champ like velocities, but who use engine braking to that extent
(do twins have a lot less engine braking?), just pressing rear brake
lever enough to make light come on might stop twat boy in XR3i shunting
you half way across the roundabout?

[1] This is not strictly true...

The average car age seems to be about 7ish years older there.
