After much whinging about weather and camera, time, blahblahblah, here
    they are.

No, its not nearly as pretty as yours. It's a work in progress, but it
runs! The biggest cosmetic issue is that poor, ragged out seat cover.
I've found a new old stock cover that is perfect. Now to get some
proper padding, a tuit, then on it goes.

The front fender is suspect. I thought that the 73 had braces. The
current fender is still a vast improvement over what I replaced.
Someone had bobbed it, and not squarely either. On top of that, it was
rusted 3/4s the way across the width of it. One more good jolt and off
it was going. Other things to get after are legion. I'm currently
making myself satisfied that it fires on first kick. Not bad really
considering *I* don't fire on first kick!

Its remarkable what I can do when I'm being thick. This should do it.
I've managed to access it from two different computers.

  5. That is *gorgeous*. Best one I've seen in years.

Even the redline on the rev counter is unfaded!

I have an immaculate 13,000 mile old set of RD250D clocks in my
cupboard, with a perfectly unfaded red-line. I'm going to mount them one
day on a nice plinth to remind me of my youthful folly.

Beautiful example. The biz! Always loved 'em but the first disks
were frightening, especially in the wet. Preferred the earler TLS
arrangement. Also for some reason on mine a chunk of the left
case snapped off where the clutch cable goes through. Otherwise
an extremely user-friendly hooligan that pissed past Bonnies at
the lights, and pretty much everything else through the bends.

    On Fri, 2 Jul 2004 21:08:34 +0100,
That's a very lucky tachometer at that. It has a whacking great dent
in the side from a spill, yet still works fine. The original meter
bracket was busted and the tach cover was severely dented as well. It
came to me with electrical tape and bailing wire holding things
together. God bless the breakers. Bracket and cover have been
    replaced.

I remarked to myself while going over the images that it sure is a
lovely bike. The camera covers an astonishing number of blemishes!
I'll have to remember that should I find myself shopping on Ebay.

  12. *Very* wise. I've discovered that as well, both buying and selling,
which is why in my descriptions now I mention it if there's a blemish
that doesn't show up on the pix.

Well if it isn't as pretty as mine, I'd be surprised - barring the seat,
it really does look excellent I think you've been far too modest!

I plan to e-bay mine in August....make some space in the garage for a
    different toy.
