Paging Jack H re GSX750F

Jack, do you still ride a GSX750F? The centre stand spring - the outer
one - has popped out of place and nowhere I replace it seems to hold the
stand back in place properly.

Spare me a few moments please?

Not owned that for... five years - it went to another UKRM'er,
'Fotoman', IIRC.

Anyway, the stand...

If it's not a case of whatever the stand spring locates to has sheared
off, (be that on the frame or on the stand itself), I would have
thought either the spring has stretched to the point it needs
replacing or if you're really lucky, one of the holes in the stand
that it pivots on has worn away, meaning there's more slack for the
spring to take up than it was designed to deal with.

If you can't see anything obvious, might be worth taking some pics of
the stand from under the bike, (both up and down), and then hosting
them on something like Flickr and posting links to them in here -
someone else might spot something you haven't...

<resists temptation to post something along the lines of '...like the
GSX750F is a crap bike'> ;-)

Ah, well thanks for the suggestions. I've posted an appeal on the MCN
forum - perhaps I'll find a fello Teapot-lover there!
