    I'm probably not the best target as I'll ignore it but thinking it through,
    for cages, the plan is sound. During periods of traffic congestion it might
    be useful. I'd just like to tweak the software though so that as the road
    gets quiet it shows *advisory* limits. 70. 80. 90. 120. 160. 180. mph.

    With summary execution in the hard shoulder for people using the wrong lane
    and HGV's that don't stay in lane 1.

    Indeed. It's the one section of the M1 I hardly ever use as I'll
    almost always join at 28 or 24a depending on which way I'm headed.

    I invariably leave at J28 and use the A38

    Works brilliantly on the M42. I even get my own lane on the left
    because no-one else wants it.

    Not on the Gatwick/Leatherhead section on Monday. 3 mile car park ...

    Maybe the VSL needs extending ... ;)
