Worth it for the Hamsters alone. Though seeing them an 10:30 am would
    be weird.

Hm. I saw them and left half way through, board. Any band designed
just to show how good the guitarist is is missing the point, if you
    ask me.

The support act was Dr Feelgood, who were fucking brilliant. No
histrionics, no showing off, just good, loud, straight down the wire
    rock 'n fucking roll.

    Well, each to their own.
Always excellent the 'Feelgood. I presume that they've split up, now.

Purists may feel that the death in 1994 of the only original member
who was still in the band robbed Dr Feelgood of some of its
    authenticity.

Saw Wilko Johnson once: without doubt the most aggressive performer I
have ever seen. Like the bastard offspring of a cobra and King Kong.

When I saw them a couple of years ago, the drummer and bass player had
been in the band a *long* time (since the 70s, iirc). And, they
looked like Feelgood, they sounded like Feelgood, they felt like
    Feelgood. Enough for me.

Yes, I haven't a clue what Dr Feelgood sound like, and know nothing of
their history or discography. I also couldn't be arsed to google, I'm
    not in the mood tonight.

Essex boys, Canvey specifically. Or so I am told. Apparently I went to
school with one of them. They made that much impression on me that I
    can't remember.

You have said this before, and I know what I understand now. When I saw them
for the first time I thought "wow" the third time was more like "Oh, god, not
again" They use nice and expensive pitbull amps, at huge volume.
Lee Brilleaux was "THE front man" I just read all about him in "uncut"

Described as looking as if the bouncers had beaten up the band and
stolen their instruments. They sounded like it too: very, very hard
blokes. With guitars. A mate of mine saw the drummer beating people up
on his way to the bar and back (for four pints, all his own) during a
    set.

It's from a Nanni Morretti film, Caro Diario. He wanders into people's
houses (in real life) and when they ask what he's up to, he tells them
he's a film-maker (he is) and he's looking for locations. Then they
ask him what the film is about ...
