I'm thinking of buying one shortly, and would be interested to hear the
views of any owners of said machine (Cab? and others?). Primarily, what's
it like over longer distances, motorways etc?

I had a test ride of a new GSXR600 yesterday which was great fun but a
little cramped, my wrists were killing me after an hour or so. I've always
wanted a muscle bike for the power, more relaxed riding position, reduced
ban potential (hopefully) etc. and have been offered a new GSX1400 for the
same price as the GSXR600 (£5499) at my local dealership.

Oh, and does anyone know if there's a picture of the official Suzuki
flyscreen for the GSX1400 anywhere on the web? There's nowt on the Suzuki
    website that i can see.

    Any good/bad points greatly appreciated.

    Cheers,

    Iwan

15000 trouble free miles on mine so far, v.pleased with it. Service
costs - £90 - 130 for minor & interim services, max £250 for the valve
shimming one. 6000 miles / rear tyre average. Ride it all year round.

If you are doing the test rides, have a go on Yam 1300, Honda CB1300,
Kwak ZRX(S) 1200, Suzuki B12 for comparison & comfort test.

Cheers all. Only fing is that none of my local dealers are very keen to let
unfaired demonstrators out at the moment (must be the weather, wet/salty
roads). None have a GSX1400 demo at the moment, but i'll keep looking.

The reviews on www.gsx1400.org are pretty usefull though...

I might just go ahead and order one anyway, I can't imagine it'll feel
    underpowered after riding an RGV250!

....and it should make at least 120BHP, not like those watered down
    fashion retro bikes.

What, the page detailing where you lobbed it? ;-)

Was that your fault or the bikes?

I do like XJR's, it's just that the GSX is cheaper and allegedly has more
torque - which you can never have too much of IMHO.

    Cheers,

    Y2K tour.
Both, mine for going faster than it could handle, its for not being able
    to hanle it :=}
Doesn't feel like it has more torque when you ride it

Hmm, when I test rode the XJR, it felt s though it did have a bit less
grunt than the 14. Mind ewe, the test ride was only half an hour...

I should have done the pipes when I had it put back together, but I got a
barely used (50 miles) set for £200 ukp.

I've bought a new seat, will that help :)
