  3. It was somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the
drugs began to take hold. I remember "Dave A"
They've changed editorship recently I believe, which might explain the
sudden interest in them. A couple of years ago they had a small booklet
of 100 top classics and the Scim wasn't even in it - mind you, the
    previous ed was a wanker.

In light of the inclusion in the list, you can expect prices to rise, so
anyone who wants a Scim should get one now.

Yeah, the new bloke seems OK. This was a thing where they've been taking
votes from the public for the last few months. Won by the bloody Morris
Minor of all things. My current object of desire, the GT6, was way down the
    list.
If only mine wasn't rattling like a bastard and in dire need of a respray I
    could make a mint.

Let me know when you find a useable example for £600. I've been
    Not C202TLU by any chance?

They rust like **** and (as my sister's just discovered) when the roof
starts to leak they're a bastard to sort out.

Her tame mechanic was *hugely* amused when they tried to tow it over
for him to fix after a breakdown. Rather foolishly they used the towing
eye, which did a *super* job of pulling the whole front end off. "They
    all do that sir".
A bit? No sir. Not a bit. 'Totally' is the word you're seeking.

Might have been actually.. It was C reg, and it had a London reg, so that
could well be it. IIRC they only imported something like 50 or 60 on a C
    plate..

Had the wrong front seats in, Recaros out of something like a Rover 800
    Vitesse.

Seats were correct on mine - did it have a fag burn on the rear spoiler? If
it had it was the ex-press car, which had a few stories to tell. . . . . . .

I think the reg on mine was C225 TLU. Had "Fiat Demonstrator" or something
    on the reg plates though..

I always quite liked the look of the original Scimitar. The pre-GTE one.
Used to be one not far from here with a very tuned 3.0 Essex lump in, went
well, sounded great, and looked a bit decent too.

I hate to disagree with Lozzo on such things, but the only people I've
heard use "normally aspirated" to mean "carbs" are people who don't
    know what they're on about.

I always liked the Sabre, it was a car of its time and bore a great
degree of similarity to the MGB. Funny how some will go all gaga over a
rotten old MG, yet wouldn't have a Sabre.

Frankly, I know which I'd choose.
