Anyone used these people. They seem to be a sort of easyjet for glasses but
would like to see if anyone knows anything about them.

I read the subject, and honestly expected the message body to be:

Grimly Curmudgeon was seen penning the following ode to ... whatever:
You only have to go somewhere else in Europe to find out just *how*
much we're being overcharged here in the UK.

I used to get my glasses in Germany, even with me paying full price
they were still less than half of what I would have paid here for
    similar or better quality.

Yeah, funny how they can afford to do continuous "Get a 2nd pair free"
    promos innit?

  9. It was somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the
I don't mind paying for the service. I know the cost of High St specs is
influenced by rent, rates, wages, etc, but every time I pay full price I
come away with the feeling I've been stitched up.

This time round I'm just going to buy a couple of pairs of cheapies
    online.

I guess you don't wear glasses then? They are extremely cheap in
Kuwait[1] and there seems to be an over supply too. There was one
particular optician in the Shark Souq that seemed to be desparate for
business from speccy cunts like myself.

[1] And probably everywhere but the UK I suppose.

No, I don't. I have 20/20 vision. In fact, I have better distance
    vision than anyone I know.
It's all the inbreeding. That's why there's so many mental hospitals,
    too.
I very nearly bought some vanity glasses the other week. Apparently I
    look pos in glasses.

But, interestingly, I have better than that when wearing my
    contacts[1]

    [1] 6/5 [2]
[2] 6/6 is the metric version of 20/20.

Ah. I was using 20/20 as "perfect" as is common usage, rather than as
a measurement. I don't know what my eyes have been measured at.
