A friend of mine has, against my advice, just chopped in his
11-month-old Bandit 650 (last of the air/oil-cooled models, his first
bike) in against a pre-reg faired Yamaha FZ6 (non-ABS). Financially,
it's not a bad deal AFAICT, but it's a bike I don't know much about.
Anyone out there got any worthwhile knowledge, bearing in mind the
    deal is done?

Couple of my friends have them and love them, but I prefer the older
Fazer with the slanty headlights. The FZ6 is very reliable. Tell him not
to bother with the 'both headlights on' conversion if he's going to run
things like heated clothing, the alternator won't cope and his battery
    will run flat.

  3. Never ridden the new one, but I rode the old one on a French Run and
thought it was a blinding bike.

And just about everyone who's ridden both seems to think it was better
    than the new one, too.
