Just thought I'd point out that if you use the AA's European route
planner on the website and type in "Chepy", it takes you to the wrong
    Chepy...

It's only about 200Km out, so that'd be a nice ride in the countryside,
    eh?

    <pats GPS V> It's got both. ;-p

    Top tip for GPS users:

When you've logged all 83 of your RBR landmarks as waypoints, and
saved the file, don't then delete all the waypoints except #28, add
    Chépy, and hit "save".

Otherwise you'll get a sore head from banging it on the desk.

  3. I have a GPS V but no european GPS-Mapsource capability DOH. It costs a
fortune for the mapsource key codes for the Garmin...

It's 77 miles in seven-odd hours. I reckon at least one will miss
dinner. Shall we have a sweep?

I add them all in Autouroute Express then transfer them to Garmin GPS
format (using GPSU). I sleep sounder at night knowing they are held
in more than one place in more than one format :)

    Ffxake yourself, grumpy.

I haven't looked at the tickets, I *know* where Chépy is, and I have
more maps than WHSmith, thank you oh so very much.

If that's all right with you.

    Aha.

They're all in AE as well, cos the "best order" feature is useful.

I had a go with that GPSU, but it isn't very numpty friendly.

Plus I've got the Streetmap prints, together with nicked photos, and,
of course, at TOG's insistence, I've filled the topbox with my entire
    map collection.

Should be handy for the odd little jaunt to Seattle, or Cairo, anyway.

Give him a break, he's got Pre-DFV Tension.

Which is probably the *real* reason the ****'s keeping a low profile on
    reflection.

I am interested in the hints he's been dropping, purely on the grounds
    that I'm a nosey bastard.

Tell you what, we'll sit on him and get Ginge to threaten to infect him
unless he tells da troof. How's that?

Wozzat then? i am using AE 2000.
It does its best. I have yet to get it to transfer more than 6
    character ID's though.
Most of my maps are inaccessibly blocked in the spare room by a load
on unpacked boxes from my last house move.

In AE Europe (98) I think, when planning a route, stick in the "vias",
then hit "best order", at it sorts them into a logical sequence. Can
take a while, if you stick the lot in. I tend to stick the lot on a
map, then pick half a dozen at a time, and "best order" them.

I've got Jeppesen airway manuals for the entire world on the shelf, plus
ONCs, JNCs and the like. There's a Decca Navigator in the shed somewhere,
too. I'll sling it all in the topbox and we can Go Large.

I'm hoping the antibiotics will have done their job by then.

2 nights in a row I've woken up in a cold sweat at about 4 AM so they're
    doing something.
