Can you drop me an email please mate, I have an electronics based
question for you regarding the dimming of 100 potted LEDs by 50%. I
have a pdf with the full specs for the LED units. Cheers

Yea, so pass over those of us with electronics degrees, and the
    accountant.

You'll rue it when you need us ..

As you and 'the accountant' have been overly modest in the past and
neglected to let us know what fields you graduated in, I asked the one
bloke who I know does have a clue. FWIW I always thought you were a car
mechanic who somehow just got lucky in IT. Btw, Colin graduated from
Cambridge in Electrical Engineering, not Electronics from what I can
gather. As you'd know, there's a world of difference between the two.

One knows how to wire a plug and the other can explain the theory?

<g> Close. Actually, the truth is I only did Electrical Engineering in
my third year, on account of doing what they called the "fast course"
in Mechanical Engineering, which with a fourth term in the summer
    vacation only took two years.

Easy enough to do wiv just one resistor IWHT. If the unit is already
packaged up to run off eg. 12v it's probably already got a resistor in
it. Just need to know how much current is passing and then work out how
    to halve it.

    Ooh ta... out of stock

We sussed it anyway by robbing resistors from old broken LED indicators
and wiring those inline, and have now found the solution. The rear
lights are dim but bright enough to be seen clearly in daylight, and
the brake light is very strong, with no overheating of the resistors
after running for a number of hours.

Frag, hold fire mate we think it's sorted.
