Already posted similar on u.p.c.ebay, but not much help really, so thought
    I'd try you lot. ;)

I have two bikes up for auction, item numbers in my sig. The Fantic lists
and searches fine, the Beamish doesn't. When searched for by the item
number only it lists fine, but when searched for by suzuki or beamish etc it
won't list and doesn't show when someone clicks the 'see my other auctions'
    link.

Strangely it apparently searches and displays fine on ebay.de, so I guess
    it's a purely ebay.uk thing.

Anyone any clue what I can do to sort it out?

I've already took the auction down once and re-listed it, I've also emailed
ebay who've kindly sent a form email saying they've received my question and
they'll get back to me ... I don't hold much hope out. ;)

Nope. However, a search for "beamish; >£199" returned your Fantic,
    which is a little odd.

    Tried it, no go.
    What browser?

I've used IE, Deepnet Explorer, Mozilla and all come up with nothing for a
search or for 'see my other crap' from the Fantic listing.

Salad Dodger came up with the following;:
hmmm. The Fantic was listed first, separately from the Beamish. Then I
went to do a 'sell a similar item' and changed everything. Could be
something with that ... But when we found we couldn't get it in a 'beamish'
search, we cancelled the item and re-listed separately and it still doesn't
    work.

    hmmm.

Paul - xxx came up with the following;:
In the original listing was the word 'tits', describing the brand new rear
tyre and that it still had tits on it ... which ebay say is a no-no word and
would cause the item to not show in a search..

    Good grief.

Why don't they just flag it up when the item is submitted for sale?

BORG came up with the following;:
Yup, we just got an email from ebay saying "I have looked at your item
description and can see that it contains one
or more questionable words. Our system will not index items for search
that have inappropriate language in them. These words in your auction
prevent this indexing" So we revised the description a few minutes ago.

    Thanks anyway. ;)

Bastards still accepted the fucking sale though. Why don't they just red
mark it or something similar when it's being described or submitted.

Ah well, it's caused me mucho frigging grief these past couple of days ...

  10. Makes selling bird nesting boxes and other twitcher paraphernalia a bit
    hard, I'd have thought.

The Older Gentleman came up with the following;:
'tit' is apparently OK, it's when the plural 'tits' is used that it becomes
    rude.

The mind boggles at the levels of political correctness involved that
    decides these things.

Apparently someone in Germany, ebay.de, had no problem listing, searching
etc so it appears we brits need looking after.

They're not called tits though, are they? Try using the
    proper term - nipples.
