I honestly thought that I'd only hold onto the CBR for six months and
chop it in for a lardy sports tourer. Unfortunately I'm beginning to
understand what it is about stupid sports bikes that grab your
attention. Even though second day out on it I got 5 points and a £240 fine.

If I were to chop in the CBR600RR3 I'd be interested in a litre Ducati.
There's something about desmodromic valves which tickles my fancy and
the only jap equivalent sounds way too complicated.

Shame the Italian job probably can't handle the Scottish weather because
I do tend to ride the bike through the summer and it can rain for days
    on end.

Unfortunately not. I used to own a Gixxer 750L. Not a problem to
insure. Then I bought the pukka ZXR400SP. Still not a problem to
    insure.

Then I bought the CBR600...oh dear, apparantly having 'CBR' as a model
implies lots of problems. And I thought I was going from a harsh
racing model to a sports-tourer, too.

It might be my imagination but last summer (2004) was piss poor too.
Pretty sure it was *weeks* of rain but I just put it down to normal
(Scottish) weather compared to the glorious summer of 03. Definitely
made me decide to become a fair weather biker, although I still can't
fault the Hein Gericke Voyager kit.

I must admit it did seem weird that when calling up the ins. co about
changing my FC policy to this nice CBR I've found at my local, it would
    require an extra £90.

However if I was to change to a Fazer 1000 it would cost me only £20 (the
    admin charge).
