Paging Daytona boot owners

Discussion in 'UK Motorcycles' started by Andy Cunningham, Apr 14, 2004.

  1. My pile of shite FT boots have finally died and it's time to buy
something decent. To that end I'm looking at getting a pair of
Daytona Travelstar GTX. Trouble is I don't seem to be able to find a
local stockist here in Sweden who doesn't charge ridiculous prices, so
I'll be ordering online from Germany. Now I've heard that the sizing
can be a little unusual, so I'm not exactly sure which size to get as
I won't have the opportunity to try them on first.

So to all you Daytona boot owners out there: did you order your usual
shoe size or something slightly smaller/larger? (I'm normally a UK
    size 10, Euro 44).

    TIA

I went up from a 12 to a 13. Still took a while to bed in. Comfy as
    anything now, mind.

Same size for me... Size 9, 42.

At least I think that's the same size.

I take an 8.5 or 9 in a shoe. 42 in Daytona boot which suggests they
    are a generous fit.

I see you've posted the same query over on the UKGSER forum.
Someone is selling a pair that they bought in the wrong size:

I normally take a size 40[1], but I have size 41 Daytona RoadStar GTXs

    [1] I know, I know, I have small feet.

    Andy Cunningham says...
If you find them a touch tight, remove the insole, wear them without for
a few weeks then put it back in. You'll find they have stretched nicely
by then and will be comfier with the insole fitted.

I was trying a pair of the one's with the hard shell inner boot today.

Not the top race thingies but the next one down (with gor-tex).

The toes are too narrow, is there a way to stretch 'em a bit?

    TIA

I've got a pair of those... you must have odd feet as they're wider then the
    SIDI's I purchased the Daytona's to replace
and I've got relatively wide feet (in relation to size).

Nice boots if you can get them to fit though :)

Hmmm, I think I should try a different pair.

My current Daytonas (Traveller GTX) fit perfectly from day one.
