My pile of shite FT boots have finally died and it's time to buy something decent. To that end I'm looking at getting a pair of Daytona Travelstar GTX. Trouble is I don't seem to be able to find a local stockist here in Sweden who doesn't charge ridiculous prices, so I'll be ordering online from Germany. Now I've heard that the sizing can be a little unusual, so I'm not exactly sure which size to get as I won't have the opportunity to try them on first. So to all you Daytona boot owners out there: did you order your usual shoe size or something slightly smaller/larger? (I'm normally a UK size 10, Euro 44). I went up from a 12 to a 13. Still took a while to bed in. Comfy as anything now, mind. -- | ___ Salad Dodger |/ \ _/_____\_ GL1500SEV/CBR1100XXX/KH500A8/TS250C |_\_____/_| ..63642../..15196.../..3157./.19406 (>|_|_|<) TPPFATUICG#7 DIAABTCOD#9 YTC#4 PM#5 |__|_|__| BOTAFOT #70 BOTAFOF #09 two#11 WG* \ |^| / IbW#0 & KotIbW# BotTOS#6 GP#4 \|^|/ ANORAK#17 '^' RBR-Visited:11 Pts: 190 Miles: 580
Andy Cunningham wrote in I take an 8.5 or 9 in a shoe. 42 in Daytona boot which suggests they are a generous fit. I see you've posted the same query over on the UKGSER forum. Someone is selling a pair that they bought in the wrong size: http://www.ukgser.com/forums/showthread.php?s=6bede9f74c0bfcbd7eb45d8b2d30b1bf&threadid=19899
I see you've posted the same query over on the UKGSER forum. Thanks for the tip, although based on other posts I've ordered in my usual size from Louis.de in Germany. Just have to wait and see how they fit. Andy -- Andy Cunningham Stockholm, Sweden R1150GS UKRMMA#17 The UKRM FAQ: http://www.ukrm.net/faq/ukrmfaq1.html
Salad Dodger says... I normally take a size 40[1], but I have size 41 Daytona RoadStar GTXs [1] I know, I know, I have small feet.
Andy Cunningham says... If you find them a touch tight, remove the insole, wear them without for a few weeks then put it back in. You'll find they have stretched nicely by then and will be comfier with the insole fitted.
Thanks for the tip Loz. Andy -- Andy Cunningham Stockholm, Sweden R1150GS UKRMMA#17 The UKRM FAQ: http://www.ukrm.net/faq/ukrmfaq1.html

I was trying a pair of the one's with the hard shell inner boot today. Not the top race thingies but the next one down (with gor-tex). The toes are too narrow, is there a way to stretch 'em a bit? TIA Tom
I've got a pair of those... you must have odd feet as they're wider then the SIDI's I purchased the Daytona's to replace and I've got relatively wide feet (in relation to size). Nice boots if you can get them to fit though
Hmmm, I think I should try a different pair. My current Daytonas (Traveller GTX) fit perfectly from day one. Tom
