  14. And don't forget - the further up you are the lower the gravity and the
    less lift is required..

    I'm sure that a big-brained type somewhere has a neat and elegant
    formula that expresses it in a fashaion that similarly big-brained
    types can find easy to understand.

  20. Istr the first one was in 1930 or thereabouts. Fucking amazing when you
    think about it... some old stringbag (although pretty good for its day)
    wheezing its way up and over the highest mountain in the world in a
    range of bloody high mountains. Not much room for error, mechanical or
    human.
