"It's all in perfect working order."

(Mind, I forgot to check whether he'd tightened up the one bolt of mine
that he did manage to move...)

However, the exhaust really is blowing quite a lot. I think the carbon
fibre's given up, but I might try to bodge it anyway. It's getting too
loud even for me, and I'm even getting fed up of the "pop-pop-pop"
    backfires into every corner.

I had a word with Kenny and he mumbled something about not enough gas.

I think the correct term for that is "unfortunate" ;-). Important part
being no damage to your person or are you feeling some twinges today ?
Same here, was edgy all weekend as I couldn't settle knowing I was
missing the BOSM in such glorious weather. Very bad planning on my
behalf, no bike, son's 18th and a house move :-(.

Oh bum, clumsy **** etc. Makes me quite glad that after crawling out of
bed at 5.45 with the intention of joining you, I promptly fell asleep
on the sofa, otherwise your bike (& possibly you) would probably have
been damaged rather more by a Raptor sliding into it.

Better facilities than in a lay-by on the A14, then. Glad I hada
    topbox full of Lucozade.

All had been well on the journey home, I'd got two landmarks
(Derbyshire and Leicestershire), and was heading for my Northants one
    down the A14.

Big line of trucks up ahead, so I pulled out, gassed it on a bit, and
something felt "not quite right", at the back end.

I rolled off, dropped back into lane one, and all went to ratshit.

Got it stopped in a lay-by, and, as suspected, the sticky twiglet
repair plug had made a bid for freedom.

Attempted a TyreWeld repair, but speed with with the foam was exiting
the wound didn't bode well. It didn't last until the next layby.

Stopped again, used the emergency 'phone and was advised that the
fourth emergency service would be there within the hour.

And he was, in a flat-bed truck. With no tools.

Phoned around to try and find an unlikely tyre shop open on a Sunday
afternoon, and then strapped the 13 onto the back, and set off for
Rothwell services, about 3 miles down the road, where the bike was
    unloaded.

About 5 minutes later, truck #2 turns up, and we reload the CB for
long journey home. You get a good view of the road from up in those
    cabs, don't you.

First thing when home - order *proper* plug repair kits off Ebay, one
for each bike - no point in having one, and keeping it inthe garage.

Had to use the big gold beast to ferry madam to work today, and I'm
off to FWR in a minute to get a new Pilot Road 2.
    Jolly good thing,too.

Must have bben a good weekend for accidents -there was a tailback on
the A40 just past Hanger Lane on Saturday, while the FB cut the roof
off a FIAT 500 that had seen better days, and Sunday's journey home
was slightly delayed by the obligatory upside-down caravan, on the
opposite carriageway of the A14. Plod were making a right pig's ear of
dragging it out of the central reservation, too.

I used 'Ultraseal' for the six or so years that I commuted on the
K100/75/1100. Didn't have a single puncture in that time (I guess it
would have been close to 200k miles?)

You found some of those ones that I suggested, then?

Let us know what they're like if you have call to use them.
